A HISTORY OF EXPERIENCE
Remerica was built on a foundation of knowledge acquired from years of experience in the real estate industry. Our founder, James Courtney, has
been involved with the real estate industry since the 1960's. His many significant achievements indicate the caliber of his work as well as the
reasons for his impeccable reputation in the field today.
In 1974, Jim and three partners purchased the exclusive rights to market franchises for Century 21 in the state of Michigan. Jim became Marketing
Director for Century 21 of Michigan and was instrumental in opening it's first 35 franchised offices. Then, in 1980, Century 21 of Michigan was sold
back to Century 21 International so Jim would be free to open his own offices. He formed a new management partnership and went on to build
three of the top offices in Michigan.
Because of the phenomenal success of these offices, they were eventually purchased by Coldwell Banker. Jim and his highly successful
management team stayed with Coldwell Banker after being asked to assist them during their transition into this new market. But after their
experiences with what they felt were slow moving bureaucratic real estate companies, Jim and his team realized that there was a need for a better
way to help their sales organization serve the public, and together they founded Remerica.
